Gion is the symbol of Kyoto. In Gion, restaurants and rest houses with colcothar lattices stand side by side to form an old-fashioned atmosphere. Its northern neighbor is called Ohto for the location on the east of the Kamogawa River. (“Ohto” means the east of Kamogawa.) We, the members of the Kyoto Ohto Antique Art Association, keep our shops in the Ohto area. |
